The aim of the postgraduate program in nursing is to prepare graduates to assume responsibilities as nurse specialists, consultants, educators, administrators in a wide variety of professional settings.

On Completion of the two year M.Sc Nursing programme, the graduates will be able to:

1. Utilize/apply the concepts, theories and principles of nursing science
2. Demonstrate advance competence in practice of nursing
3. Practice as a nurse specialist.
4. Demonstrate leadership qualities and function effectively as nurse educator and 
    manager.
5. Demonstrate skill in conducting nursing research, interpreting and utilizing the    
    findings from health related research.
6. Demonstrate the ability to plan and bringing change in nursing practice and in the 
    health care delivery system.
7. Establish collaborative relationship with members of other disciplines
8. Demonstrate interest in continued learning for personal and professional   
    advancement.

    Admission to M.Sc. Nursing course of Kasturba Nursing College is made according to the rules and regulations framed by Indian Nursing Council (INC), Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik (MUHS), and Kasturba Health Society.
These rules are subject to alterations, amendments and modifications as may be considered necessary from time to time as per guidelines from Indian Nursing Council, Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik (MUHS) and Kasturba Health Society.

Criteria for Admission on Merit Basis-
Aggregate of Basic B.Sc/Post Basic B.Sc Nursing Marks. 

*If a candidate fails to take admission on 31/08/2018 by 4.00 P.M the seat will be offered to the next candidate on the waiting list.

1.The candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered midwife or equivalent with State Nursing Registration Council.
2.The minimum education requirements shall be the passing of : B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Hons. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with minimum of 55% aggregate marks.
3.5% relaxation of marks for reserved category candidates may be given.
4.The candidate should have undergone in B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Hons. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing in an institution which is recognized by Indian Nursing Council.
5.Minimum one year of work experience after registering with State Nursing council.
6.Candidate shall be medically fit and produce a fitness certificate to the effect.
7.In service candidate should apply through proper channel. 
8.Age :
a)Age limit for in-service government candidate is 50 years on or before 31st July  2018.   
b) Age limit for private candidate 55 years on or before 31st July, 2018.

*If the constitutional reservation seats remain vacant then: The remaining seats will be filled in from amongst the common inter-se-merit of the categories.

Constitutional : 25% seats are reserved for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/VJ/NT/OBC (including SBC) categories. The candidate claiming the reservation under any of these categories shall produce: original caste certificate, caste validity certificate and a non-creamy layer certificate at the time of verification of certificate. No extra time will be given for the same.

Please Note:- Constitutional reservation will not be considered unless duly signed and prepared caste certificate, caste validity certificate and a non-creamy layer certificate (where applicable),which is valid up to 31st March 2019 is Presented to the scrutiny committee.
